Friends & Family

Our story is your story too.

1 Thessalonians 2:8

So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

what is CITS Friends & Family?

Our friends and family is a community of brothers and sisters whose stories intersect in and through Church in the Square. Some used to be members. Some are parents of members. Others are global partners and a myriad of relationships cultivated through the years. It’s a group—regardless of where they worship and live—who share a love for the people, neighbors, mission, and vision God has entrusted to Church in the Square.

It’s a group like the first-century Christians of Thessalonica, of whom Paul wrote, “So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:8).

WHat’s the Latest with CITS?

Much of Romans is focused on articulating gospel truth. But the conclusion is dedicated to naming people who embody the good news in their city. Suffice it to say, Paul’s salutation has inspired us to reflect on the fellow workers God has brought together at Church in the Square.

CITS Friends & Family exists to maintain unity and stay connected. Following Jesus in Chicago is challenging and beautiful. We desire to share the sorrows and celebrations with our friends and family for prayer, encouragement, and financial support beyond the immediate fellowship of Church in the Square. When you subscribe we’ll share regular updates, needs, goals, vision, as well as discipleship material that we trust will strengthen your walk with the Lord.
