Discipleship Pathway
We want everyone to be welcomed, known, and rooted in Jesus.
We want everyone to be welcomed, known, and rooted in Jesus.
Matthew 28:18-20
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

A disciple of Jesus, in chicago
We’re all disciples. We’re all being discipled. Reflecting on Jesus' ministry, the word disciple seems to morph into something resembling a proper noun—exclusively identifying Jesus’ twelve disciples. But the term is much broader than that. A disciple is a learner. It’s a student. That means, by nature, every person is a disciple of something. Whether we learn math from a grade school teacher, the electrical trade from a master electrician, or how to cuss from a cousin, we’re all learning something from someone all the time.
Sometimes, we don’t realize it’s happening. “If we’re not being intentionally formed by Jesus himself,” explains writer John Mark Comer, “then it’s highly likely we are being unintentionally formed by someone or something else.” You see, we’re always learning something. We’re constantly being taught. So, the question isn’t, are you being discipled? But instead, who (or what) is discipling you?
