Why Help Start New Churches?
Jesus told us to.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Jesus is glorified.
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think... to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 2:20--21)
People meet Jesus.
"...and the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved." (Acts 2:47)
The Chicagoland
Collective
We believe that when churches unite as friends on mission, God multiplies their impact far beyond what any one church could do alone.
Our First Church Plant
A couple of years ago, we had the privilege of incubating, then sending Refuge Church, led by Steve and Kristin Coble. They launched a multiethnic congregation in Humboldt Park rooted in the conviction that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1).
Today, Refuge continues to grow as a gospel community. On Good Friday this year, we even gathered together with our friends at Centro Cristiano to worship Jesus and remember his death.
We’re now partners together in new church planting efforts through the Chicagoloand Collective.
What’s Next?
A New Church in Wicker Park
Join us as we pray for a new church in Wicker Park. We are considering partnering with Tyler and Margaux Collins through a two-year season of training, moving (from Austin, TX!), joining us for a year at Church in the Square, and then being sent out in the summer of 2028.
