Staff Update

Dear Church in the Square Family,

We want to clearly and lovingly share some news with you: this month, Keynan has been transitioning out of his role as our Minister for Operations. His last day was yesterday, Sunday, February 22nd.

This wasn’t an easy or quick decision. Starting late last year, we mapped out a season of increased support and discernment about the role fit led by our Deacon for Staff, Jasmine Kent, and our Elder for Staff, Jason Jesudoss. During that season, we invited both our elder and deacon teams to prayerful consideration.

Ultimately, our elder team determined that this particular role was no longer the right fit for Keynan. That decision in no way diminishes our deep respect and appreciation for Keynan, or the care he’s shown for this community during his time on staff.

His vibrant disposition and welcoming spirit have brought so much warmth and life to our culture of hospitality, especially in the welcome of new people at Church in the Square. Keynan is and will continue to be a life-giving member of our church family.

As a church, we’re committed to caring for Keynan well through this vocational transition—practically, professionally, and personally.

We also want to acknowledge that transitions like this can raise questions. So, we held a members gathering yesterday to share this news and create space for those conversations, and we remain available to talk. Please don't hesitate to reach out to any of the elders directly.

We’re a church that believes Jesus calls us to honesty, humility, and care for one another—especially in hard moments like staff transitions. We’re definitely in this together and eager to see how God will continue to be good to Keynan and to our whole church family.

With love,

Jason, Quinn, Aaron, Josh, and Jason

Elder Team, Church in the Square
